STAC VOLLEYBALL: OWEGO NOTCHES HARD-FOUGHT SWEEP OF PREVIOUSLY-UNBEATEN ONEONTA (2025-10-09)

ioga County Sports ReportONEONTA — Owego swept previously-unbeaten Oneonta, but as you would expect it wasn't easy here Thursday night in STAC volleyball action.
The Central Division-leading River Hawks improve to 11-1 overall and 10-0 in STAC play, while the East Division-leading Yellowjackets fall to 9-1 overall and 8-1 in STAC play.
Owego started fast with a 25-13 win in the first set, then needed extra play in the next two sets, winning both by identical 26-24 scores.
Maggie Hamed led Owego with 12 kills, one block, 10 digs, and three service aces, while Braelea McLaren had eight kills, one block, and one ace, and Alyssa Harrington registered nine digs, seven kills, and one block.
Bella Miller dished out 28 setter assists in the win, while Peyton Coolbaugh recorded 15 digs, and Evelyn Howe added two blocks.
Owego returns to action Saturday at the West Genesee Tournament.
