IAC BOYS SOCCER: FLEDGLING EDISON EDGES SVEC, 1-0 (2025-10-09)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Edison scored early in the first half and made it stand in a 1-0 win over SVEC here Thursday afternoon in IAC Large School boys soccer action.

The win is the second in a row, and third this season for the Spartans, who are playing their first season of soccer in 95 years.

Blake Difasi scored in the 51st minute for Edison.

SVEC had a 9-2 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.

Sirron Irvin had one save in net for the Eagles.

SVEC, now 7-6, will host Tioga Monday morning at 11 a.m. at Candor High School.
