NEW YORK STATE FOOTBALL: SVEC DEBUTS IN STATE RANKINGS, OWEGO MOVES UP FOUR SPOTS (October 9, 2025)

Tioga's and Waverly's state rankings remain unchanged in the latest New York State Sportswriters Association football rankings, while SVEC debuted, and Owego bumped up four spots.

CLASS D
Tioga, at 4-1, remains atop the Class D rankings, while SVEC, also 4-1, made its first appearance in the top-15 at No. 12.

Deposit-Hancock (4-1) moved up to 10th, while defending Section IV champ Delhi (3-2) dropped to 13th, and Sidney (3-1), Trumansburg (3-2), and Walton (3-2) are all honorable mentions.

Section II's Greenwich (5-0), Section I'd Tuckahoe (5-0), Section VI's Newfane (5-0), and Section III's Lowville (5-0) are ranked second through fifth, respectively.

CLASS B
Waverly, at 5-0, remains fourth in Class B, while Maine-Endwell has jumped to No. 12 after consecutive wins, and Owego bumped back up to 13th. Norwich (2-3) is an honorable mention.

Section IX's Port Jervis (5-0), Section XI's Sayville (4-0), and Section V's Monroe (5-0) are ranked first through third, respectively, and Section VIII's Plainedge (4-0) is fifth.

CLASS C

Chenango Forks (5-0) remains atop the Class C rankings, with Windsor (3-2) ranked 11th. Oneonta (4-1) is an honorable mention.

Section XI's Babylon (4-0), Section III's General Brown (5-0), Section II's Fonda-Fultonville (5-0) and Section I'd Bronxville (4-0) are ranked second through fifth, respectively.

8-MAN
Thomas A. Edison (4-0) is ranked third in the state in the Eight-Man rankings, while Unatego-Franklin (4-1) and Moravia (3-1) are seventh and eight, respectively. Dryden (3-2) is an honorable mention.

Section III's Frankfort-Schyler (5-0) and Section I'd Pawling (4-0) are ranked 1-2, and Section III's Waterville-Hamilton (4-1) and Saquoit Valley (3-2) are 4-5.

CLASS A
Horseheads (5-0) is ranked 10th in the state, while U-E (4-1) dropped to 24th after its loss to Waverly, and Vestal (3-2) is 25th after losses to Owego and M-E.
