IAC VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR DOMINANT IN SWEEP OF MORAVIA (22 PHOTOS) (2025-10-06)
Tioga County Sports ReportCANDOR — With one of its more dominant performances of the season, defending New York State Class D champion Candor swept Moravia here Monday night in IAC Small School Division crossover volleyball action.
The Coyotes, now 10-0, won by scores of 25-7, 25-8, and 25-11.
Emmi Makie led Candor with 12 points, including eight aces, and eight kills, while Nicola Soper had seven points, including five aces, and 10 kills, and Montana Vorhis had nine points (five aces) and two digs.
Malley Heidl recorded six points, 18 setter assists, and three digs in the win, while Nora Young had nine points and four digs, Hazel Ray had six points and three kills, and Valeria Polanco-Gil added six points (three aces).
Jill Teribury registered four points and three digs for the Coyotes, while Ava Fernando had three kills, Lydia Kunte had three points (three aces), and Tracy Reynolds chipped in with two points.
JV — Candor 2, Moravia 0: Candor swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-10 and 25-11.
Ava Halstead led Candor with 11 points (four aces) and three kills, while Tori Hall had nine points (two aces) and seven assists, Kaedyn Everhart had five points (two aces) and three kills, and Ava Anderson registered four points and five kills.
Ashlan Heidl recorded two points, two kills, and seven assists, while Anna Kelsey added three points (three aces), and Lizzy Kunte chipped in with three digs.
Candor returns to action Thursday at Spencer-VanEtten.
