COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OWEGO GRADS BIDWELL, BUCHSBAUM CONTRIBUTE IN ALFRED'S WIN OVER HARTWICK (2025-10-05)

ALFRED, N.Y. — Owego grad Stephen Bidwell, a junior on the Alfred University football team, ran for his second TD of the season, and freshman Jack Buchsbaum had one of his best game of the season in the Saxons' 45-24 win over Hartwick here Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference football action.

Bidwell ran the ball nine times for 22 yards, including a season-best 14-yard run, and one TD — a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter that put Alfred ahead 42-17.

Buchsbaum had four catches for a career-high 66 yards, including one for a career-long 29 yards.

Last week, Buchsbaum had three receptions for 50 yards, and Bidwell had 29 yards on seven carries. 

On the season, Bidwell has 134 yards and two TDs on 29 carries, while Buchsbaum has 19 receptions for 257 yards.

Alfred returns to action Oct. 18 at SUNY Cortland.
