SECTION IV FOOTBALL: OWEGO REBOUNDS WITH 20-6 WIN OVER NORWICH (2025-10-03)

NORWICH — Owego bounced back from a heartbreaking loss six days earlier to defeat Norwich, 20-6, in Section IV Division III football action here Friday night.

Coach Patton Taylor noted that it was a tough, physical game, adding that it “always is up there.”

Dylan Brace put the River Hawks on the scoreboard with a 4-yard touchdown run which was set up by a 65-yard scramble two plays earlier.

Dom Scherrer added a 4-yard TD run as well. His score on a trap play came following an 18-yard trap by Scherrer the play before.

Owego put its final TD on the board on a 4-yard keeper by quarterback Garrett Phelps. Stefano Scherrer set up that score with a 29-yard run two plays earlier.

Brace finished the night with 139 yards on 20 carries. Stefano Scherrer added 49 yards on four runs, Dom Scherrer tacked on 45 yards on six rushes and Phelps chipped in with 39 yards on five carries.

Owego (3-2) hosts Windsor (3-2) next Friday.
