STAC BOYS SOCCER: WOLD'S HUSTLE PLAY KEYS OWEGO'S 2-0 WIN OVER WAVERLY (24 PHOTOS) (2025-10-02) Tioga County Sports Report WAVERLY — Mason Wold's hustle play turned into a goal late in the first half, leading Owego to a 2-0 win over Waverly here Thursday night in STAC Central Division boys soccer action at Memorial Stadium.
Rovi Kobziewicz put the River Hawks ahead 1-0 lead with 4:25 remaining in the first half on a goal set up by a Wold, who took the ball away from a Wolverine defender on the end line and slid a pass to Kobziewicz in the box.
Liam Bell added an insurance goal in the second half to make it 2-0.
The River Hawks had an 8-2 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Owego, now 2-10, returns to action Saturday when it hosts Union-Endicott.
