IAC VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR SWEEPS PAST NEWFIELD (22 PHOTOS) (2025-09-30)

CANDOR — Candor continued its early-season roll with a sweep of Newfield here Tuesday night in IAC South Small School Division volleyball action.

The Coyotes, now 8-0, won by scores of 25-18, 25-10, and 25-16.

Nicola Soper led Candor with nine service points, including four aces, 14 kills, one block, and five digs, while Malley Heidl had eight points (three aces), two kills, 27 setter assists, and three digs, Emmi Makie had three points, 12 kills, and six digs, and Hazel Ray tallied 12 points (three aces).

Jill Teribury had eight points (two aces) and two digs for the Coyotes, while Valeria Polanco-Gil had eight points (two aces), Ava Fernando registered three kills and one block, and Nora Young,
Montana Vorhis, and Tracy Reynolds chipped in with two points apiece.

Paige Bassi led Newfield with two points, 11 assists, and three digs, Kate Chaffee had eight kills and three digs, Samantha White added four points (two aces) and two kills, and Payton Bevins chipped in with seven digs.

Candor travels to Trumansburg Wednesday for a non-divisional match.

JV — Candor 2, Newfield 0: Candor swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-16 and 25-12.

Tori Hall led Candor with 13 points (two aces), two kills and two assists, while Ashlan Heidl had nine points (four aces), five assists, and one block, Anna Kelsey had three points and two kills, Ava Halstead and Kaedyn Everhart added four points apiece, and Ava Anderson chipped in with three points (two aces).
