SAYRE ELKS HOOP SHOOT SET FOR NOV. 9 (2025-09-30)

ATHENS — The 2025 Sayre Elks Hoop Shoot will be held at the Athens High School gym on Sunday, Nov. 9.

This year’s event will once again feature a basketball clinic, led by local high school coaches. Following the clinic, the players will be able to compete in the annual Elks Hoop Shoot.

Registration will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with the basketball clinic running from 10:15 to 11 a.m. The hoop shoot will begin at 11:30.

The Elks Hoop Shoot is free and is for kids ages 8-13. Kids must be at least 8 years old and no older than 13 as of April 1, 2026 in order to participate.

Winners will advance through the local contest, Districts, States, and Regionals to the National Finals in Chicago. Six National Champions will have their names on a digital display at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

The Elks will cover travel costs through each level.
