TIOGA COUNTY SPORTS REPORT: OWEGO'S BRACE, MURPHY NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2025-09-15)

TIOGA COUNTY — Owego junior Dylan Brace and Ava Murphy had outstanding weeks for the River Hawks. They are the Tioga County Sports Report / Guthrie Community Credit Union "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Sept. 13.

OWEGO'S BRACE NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Brace rushed for three TDs, and added four PAT kicks in Owego's 34-8 win over Susquehanna Valley.

Brace piled up 162 yards on 22 carries, scoring on runs of 10, 7, and 3 yards. He also had one catch for 3 yards.

Brace also handled the place-kicking duties and made 4 of 5 extra-point kicks.

Honorable Mentions: SVEC's Logan Aman (football), SVEC's Kyle Jantz (soccer), Newark Valley's Elijah Williams (soccer), Owego's Sawyer Prentiss (golf), and SVEC's Jakobe Foster (football).

OWEGO'S MURPHY NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Murphy racked up six wins in two meets, including four wins in a River Hawk victory over Windsor.

Murphy won the 200- and 500-yards freestyle races and was on the winning 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays against Windsor.

At Oneonta, Murphy won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly.
