NEWARK VALLEY — Maine-Endwell built a comfortable halftime advantage and went on to defeat Newark Valley, 5-0, in Section IV field hockey action here Friday.

The Spartans scored twice in the first quarter and twice in the second. They would tack on one more in the fourth period.

Brooke Williams led M-E with a goal and an assist.

Krista Sahyshyn, Julia Allen, Remi Wilson and Sofia Ewing contributed one goal apiece.

M-E held a 16-1 advantage in shots and led 6-1 in penalty corners.

Ashleen Callahan made 11 saves in goal for NV. Nevaeh Saddlemire had one for the visitors.
