Tioga County Sports ReportOWEGO — Freshman Eva Crawford scored in the second overtime to lift Owego to a hard-fought, 1-0, win over Moravia here Thursday night in Section IV field hockey action.
"From the first whistle of the game to the end of double OT, the girls played with heart, grit and as one," said Owego coach Ashlee Marsh.
"Eva Crawford stepped up with the game-winner on a penalty stroke in double overtime," she noted. "It was a true team win."
Moravia had a 10-7 edge in shots-on-goal, and an 11-7 advantage in penalty corners.
Allie Kneller recorded 10 saves in net for the River Hawks.
Owego, now 1-3, returns to action Saturday when it hosts Walton.
