IAC VOLLEYBALL: S-VE'S MEYERS SAYS TEAM CHEMISTRY, STAYING HEALTHY KEYS TO SUCCESS IN 2025 (17 PHOTOS) (2025-09-03)
By TIM BIRNEYTioga County Sports ReportSPENCER — S-VE volleyball coach Charity Meyers is hoping team chemistry can lead to another successful season, but says her team needs to stay injury-free in 2025.
"The team is hard working and has meshed very well together," said Meyers. "They have a great attitude and play whole-heartedly.
"If we can stay mentally and physically strong, I believe this team can do great things," noted Meyers. "If we lose even one of these players during the season, it could have a huge effect on how far we go.
"I can't wait to see what they accomplish this season," added Meyers.
Junior Kelsea Swayze is set to start at setter for the Panthers, with junior Trinity Dashler and freshman Eliana Middlebrook at outside hitters, and senior Lauren Gillette and sophomore Allison Oakes at middle hitters.
Junior Emma Neish is set to start at defensive specialist, while junior Amani Diboun will be the libero, and sophomore Madison Ashby is Meyers' "versatile player."
Meyers believes Gillette, Wallace, Diboun, and Swayze will be "players to watch" for the Panthers in 2025.
Dashler is a newcomer, but Meyers believes she is also a player to watch, but she isn't the only newcomer.
"All of our newcomers — Trinity, Eliana (Middlebrook), Allison (Oakes), Emma (Neish), and Madison (Ashby) — are ones you want to keep an eye on," said Meyers. "They will all see playing time and they have been doing an amazing job."
Meyers has postseason aspirations in 2025.
"We have been having great seasons every year, but we need to push harder at the end of season and have a great postseason as well.
"I believe we will be playing in the IACs again and also the Sectional playoffs," said Meyers.
AROUND THE IAC"Teams are getting new coaches and improving overall," said Meyers. "I believe we will have a successful season and will go far in the postseason."
