Braelyn Hornick and
Shelby Swartz, and Owego's Sophia
Palladino — are starting on the Hartwick volleyball team.
Hornick, a senior, is the starting setter, while Swartz, a senior, is an outside / middle hitter, and Palladino, a junior, is an outside hitter.
The Hawks split a pair of tri-matches over the weekend.
FRIDAY
Kean 3, Hartwick 1Hartwick won the first set 32-30, but Kean rallied to win the final three sets by scores of 25-22, 2-22 and 25-21.
Hornick recorded 41 setter assists, 3.5 service points, including one ace, two kills, one block, and 13 digs.
Swartz had 12.5 points, including one ace, 10 kills, three blocks, and 14 digs
Palladino had 10 points, including three aces, six kills, 10 digs, and one assist.
Hartwick 3, Trine U. 0Hartwick won by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23.
Hornick registered 25 assists, five points, including one assist, four kills, and 11 digs.
Swartz had 12 points, including two aces, 10 kills, and 13 digs.
Palladino recorded nine points, eight kills, two blocks, and four digs.
SATURDAY
Hartwick 3, Washington College 1Washington College won the first set 25-9, but Hartwick rallied to win the next three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-23.
Swartz had 11 points, including one ace, nine kills, two aces, and four digs.
Palladino had 11.5 points, including one ace, 10 kills, one block, and seven digs.
Montclair State 3, Hartwick 0Montclair State won by scores of 25-23, 27-25, and 25-19.
Swartz had eight points, including one ace, six kills, two blocks, and 13 digs.
Palladino had nine points, including one ace, seven kills, two blocks and 11 digs.
Hornick did not play in either of the matches Saturday.
Hartwick returns to action Friday at the Cortland quad-meet.
