STAC BOYS GOLF: OWEGO DROPS SEASON OPENER TO ONEONTA (2025-08-21)

OWEGO — Sawyer Prentiss was one of four Owego golfers to shoot in the 40s Thursday, but the River Hawks came up short in their STAC season opener against Oneonta, 207-224.

Prentiss, a senior, was making his debut on the links after moving over from soccer and carded a team-low 40 on the back nine at The Golf Club at Owego.

Duke Snyder recorded a 43, Wyatt Prentiss shot 45, newcomer Connor Kotski had a 47 and Hudson Brigham rounded out the team scoring with a 49.

Cam Thole contributed a non-scoring 54.

The Yellowjackets were led by 8th-grader Kason Miller, who shot a career-best 39 to pick up medalist honors.

Seniors Dylan Brislin and Nate Woytach notched scores of 40 and 41, respectively.

Oneonta is coming off a 12-2 season, one of its best in school history.

The River Hawks are back in action Friday with a trip to Chenango Valley.
