The Sports Reports All-Region Girls Lacrosse team, while a Division I commit from Horseheads is the "
Player of the Year," and a Corning 8th-grader stood out as "
Newcomer of the Year."
Horseheads junior
Lauren Kozemko is committed to Division I Albany and she had a dominant year for the Blue Raiders to be named "
Player of the Year."
Kozemko had 59 goals and 10 assists, ranking among the top scorers in Section IV this year.
Owego senior
Madison McEvoy had 57 goals and 23 assists, scoring her 200th career goal this year as Owego reached the state semifinals. She is the "
Offensive Player of the Year."
Another River Hawks star,
Shannon Maslin, is the "
Defensive Player of the "Year.
She was one of the top goalies in Section IV this year, leading Owego
to the sectional title and the state semis. She had 168 saves in 2025,
including the 500th of her career.
Owego coach
Ashlee Marsh is the "
Coach of the Year" after leading Owego to the sectional title and the state final four.
Marsh
coached OFA to a 12-3 regular season mark and a Section IV Class C
Championship, as well as a Regional title victory over New Paltz, paving
the way for her team's run all the way to the New York State Final
Four.
Corning 8th-grader
Brynna Walsh had 25 goals, 11
assists, 29 ground balls, 29 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers as a
first-year 8th-grader, and "Newcomer of the Year."
Horseheads
junior Lexi Lese had 39 goals and 39 assists this year and is on the
All-Region Super 7 all-star team along with Maslin, McEvoy and Kozemko.
The rest of the Super 7 includes Owego’s Lexi Herceg, who had 57 goals to lead the River Hawks. She also dished out 13 assists.
Corning’s
Gracee Work (22 goals, four assists, 11 caused turnovers and 49 draws)
and teammate Riley Keeler (A defensive standout who caused 12 turnovers
and had 11 ground balls) are also on the Super 7.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Lauren Kozemko, Horseheads

The Division I commit had a dominant junior year for the Horseheads
Blue Raiders. She had 59 goals and 10 assists this year, becoming one of
the top scorers in the section this year. She is an Albany commit and
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Madison McEvoy, Owego
*
Scored 56 goals while leading Owego in assists with 23. Scored her
200th career goal this year as Owego reached the state semifinals.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Shannon Maslin, Owego
*
Was one of the top goalies in Section IV this year, leading her team to
the Class C sectional title with double digit saves in multiple games
this spring. She had 166 saves in 2025, including the 500th of her
career en route to an appearance in the state final four.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Bryanna Walsh, Corning* Had 25 goals, 11 assists, 28 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers and 29 draw controls as a first-year eighth-grader.
COACH OF THE YEAR: Ashlee Marsh, Owego* Led the River Hawks to the Class C sectional title and a trip to the state semifinals.
All-Region Super 7 Girls Lacrosse
LAUREN KOZEMKO, HORSEHEADS* See Above
LEXI LESE, HORSEHEADS*
Scored 39 goals and led the region with 39 assists this year. Also had
nine caused turnovers. She is committed to play at Division I Niagara.
She scored her 100th career goal this season.
MADISON MCEVOY, OWEGO* See Above
LEXI HERCEG, OWEGO* Finished the season with 57 goals to lead Owego, while also dishing out 13 assists in Owego’s Final Four run.
SHANNON MASLIN, OWEGO* See Above.
GRACEE WORK, CORNING* Had 22 goals, four assists, 23 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and 49 draws.
RILEY KEELER, CORNING*
The defensive standout led the Hawks defensive effort, causing 12
turnovers, getting 11 ground balls and adding two goals and an assist.
