BOYS BASKETBALL: CANDOR, TOWANDA, CORNING TOP WAVERLY SUMMER LEAGUE STANDINGS AS REGULAR-SEASON WINDS TO CLOSE (2025-07-15)

Tioga County Sports Report
WAVERLY — Candor, Towanda and Corning — all with one loss — are tied atop the Waverly Summer Basketball League varsity boys standings with the final week of regular-season play set for Wednesday.

Last week, Waverly rolled over Troy, 47-20, but dropped a 40-37 decision against Candor to fall to 6-4, while Troy went on to hand Corning its first loss — 45-43 in double-overtime, to improve to 6-4.

Athens edged Tioga, 36-32, then topped Horseheads, 52-30, to even its record at 5-5. Tioga opened the night with its first win of the season in a 53-23 rout of Edison.
