YOUTH SOFTBALL: EYOTA 12U-HALL TAKES FIRST PLACE IN TOURNAMENT AT GREENLIGHT GRAND SLAM PARK (2025-06-24)

Tioga County Sports Report
BINGHAMTON - This past weekend, the Eyota 12U-Hall team competed in a tournament at Greenlight Grand Slam Park, winning three consecutive games and taking home first place.

Eyota-Hall went 3-0 in pool play on Saturday to earn them the #1 seed going into Sunday. These ended up being the only games played however, due to rain canceling the rest of the action, resulting in the Eyota 12U-Hall team being awarded first place as the top seed.

In their first game, Eyota 12U-Hall defeated Miss Scottie's Lightning 12U, 10-1. The Eyota Nation 12U team followed that performance up with another victory, this time besting Royal QC Montreal 11U, 10-2.

Eyota-Hall played their third and final game on Saturday under the lights, taking care of Royal QC Montreal 12U, 6-0 to earn the top-seed and ultimately first place for the tournament.

In the final game, Eyota-Hall jumped out in front with two runs in the first inning. Lindsey F led off with a walk, before being driven in by a Nina G double. Nina G would then advance to third, as well as home on two passed balls.

In the top of the third, Lydia C walked with two outs. Harper L then reached first on an error that allowed Lydia C to move to third. Lydia C would score off an error by the third baseman and Harper L would eventually score on a passed ball to put Eyota 12U-Hall ahead 4-0.

The final two runs for Eyota-Hall came in the top part of the fifth inning. Lexi M ripped a triple to lead off the inning, before scoring by stealing home. Lacee and Alannah H hit back-to-back singles in the inning. Lacee went on to score the final run after an error by the Royal QC Montreal catcher.

Layla R was fantastic on the mound for Eyota-Hall, pitching all six innings, allowing just two hits while striking out nine.

Nina G went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI, as well as a run scored. Lexi M finished 1-for-1 with a run, while Lacee, Lindsey, Harper L and Lydia C all scored a run each.
