Tioga County Sports Report
CANDOR - This past Friday, Candor High School honored three of their student-athletes by holding a signing ceremony during the morning in their auditorium, where Noah Banks, Hannah Magyar and Phoebe Swartz all signed National Letters Of Intent to continue competing in sports at the college level.

Noah Banks who just finished off a trip to the State Championships for golf, will be playing both soccer and golf in college. Banks is set to attend Keuka College where he will study history and education.

"Both of my parents went there and I really like the campus. It's a smaller school and I like that coming from a small town myself. The coaches for soccer and golf seem great. They are competitive, but also like to have fun," said Banks.

Phoebe Swartz is continuing her athletic career on the volleyball court. The senior setter who can also play defensive specialist, signed on Friday to play at Keuka College as well.

"I chose Keuka because of the opportunities they offer me. They have a very good volleyball team, but I am also looking to go into the education field which they have a great program for," Swartz said.

Hannah Magyar, a standout on the pitch for the SVEC soccer program will be moving on to compete in soccer for Mohawk Valley Community College.

"They have a really good soccer program. The coaches were really nice and the team, as well as the school itself were very welcoming. Everybody there was just so sweet and that was something that really caught my eye," commented Magyar, who is planning to also be study education in college.
