COLLEGE: SEVEN CARDINALS SIGN TO CONTINUE ATHLETIC CAREERS IN COLLEGE (2025-06-10)

NEWARK VALLEY - Recently Newark Valley honored seven seniors who have made the decision to continue as student-athletes collegiately, signing National Letters Of Intent to play at the next level.
Newark Valley had students sign to play in a variety of sports, including wrestling, soccer, baseball, and basketball.
The Cardinals have three moving on to the next level to compete in soccer. Bela Krenner is continuing her athletic career at SUNY Cobleskill, while Adrianna Finta will be going to SUNY Broome and Rebecca Thompson has chosen Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Newark Valley also has two student-athletes that will continue to compete in wrestling while attending college. Austin DeBolt is heading to wrestle at Alfred State and Trevor Middendorf is moving on to SUNY Brockport for the next chapter of his wrestling career.
For basketball, Liv Short will be heading to Elmira College and Josh Karp signed to take the diamond at SUNY Broome for baseball.
"This group of athletes have been an extraordinary group of leaders for our school community," said Newark Valley Athletic Director, Scott Wandell.
"We want to not only thank them, but also their families for their commitment to our programs."
"We are confident they will succeed both academically and athletically at the next level. Congratulations and good luck," added Wandell.
