Candor's Lindsey Morse as well as Owego's Gavin Heath and Jaelyn Chrysler punched their tickets to the State Track and Field Championships, while OFA's Lexi Herceg was a force in two different sports during postseason play. They are the Tioga County Sports Report / Guthrie Community Credit Union "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending June 7.

OWEGO'S GAVIN HEATH NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION BOYS 'ATHLETE OF THE WEEK'
Gavin Heath is peaking at the right time this outdoor track and field season. Heath competed in multiple events at the Section IV State Qualifiers last week, earning a trip to the State Championships this weekend in the 800-meters by placing first for Class B with a time of 1:57.95.

Honorable Mentions: S-VE's Karson Kenville (Track & Field), S-VE's Gabe Benjamin (Track & Field), Newark Valley's Zion King (Track & Field), Newark Valley's Logan Rhodes (Track & Field), Candor's Charlie Hilbert (Track & Field).

CANDOR'S LINDSEY MORSE, OWEGO'S JAELYN CHRYSLER AND LEXI HERCEG NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK'
Candor's Lindsey Morse went into the Section IV Track And Field State Qualifiers with the goal of trying to break her school's record in the 100-meter hurdles. Morse left the weekend with a birth in the State Championships by qualifying with a time of 15.88, finishing first for Class C and third overall.

Owego's Jaelyn Chrysler also qualified for the NYSPHSAA Track And Field Championships. Chrysler punched her ticket to states, not just in one, but two events. At the Section IV State Qualifiers, Chrysler ran a season best in the 1500m with a time of 5:05.43. Owego's Chrysler qualified in the 3000m as well, running 11:12.49 to finish first for Class B.

OFA's Lexi Herceg had a busy week, competing in the postseason for both the flag football team and the girls' lacrosse team. In the flag football Class C State Semifinal, Herceg scored a touchdown in the team victory, while later that same day, the senior netted three goals to help the River Hawks win their Regional Final in Class C girls' lacrosse.
