ENDICOTT - Newark Valley finished up the Section IV track and field season at day two of the State Qualifier Meet, with Zion King finishing up the last two legs of the pentathlon, while Marcos Escalante and multiple members of the Cardinals girls' team seeing their first action of the two-day event.

King who completed three of the pentathlon events yesterday, finished up on day two with a leap of 5.61m in the long jump, while also running 4:46.61 in the 1500-meters. King placed third overall with a total of 2,687.

Escalante ran 4:52.19 in the boys' 1500-meters, while the Newark Valley girls' 4x800-meter relay team finished with a time of 11:22.82. The relay consisted of Brook Illsley, Elle Webb, Leah Lansing, and Emily LaPorte.
