Championship week rolls on today with Section IV girls' golf taking place at Soaring Eagles in Horseheads this morning, and game one of the Class A baseball title series being moved to today, while OFA girls' lacrosse competes for a sectional championship against Johnson City this evening.
BASEBALL
OFA at Maine-Endwell
Owego travels to face the Spartans this evening in game one of a three-game series to determine the Section IV Class A champion. This game was originally scheduled to take place yesterday until weather pushed it a day. Today's game-one begins a rematch of last year's championship series, which Maine-Endwell got the better of. The River Hawks defeated Chenango Valley last week in the semifinal to get here.
GIRLS' LACROSSE
OFA vs Johnson City at Chenango Forks
The River Hawks won their division this season, earning them a bye to this evening's Section IV Class C title game against Johnson City. OFA swept the Wildcats in the regular season, winning two games that were decided by a combined four points.
GIRLS' GOLF
S-VE and Candor girls' golf programs will be at Soaring Eagles Golf Course this morning to compete in the Section IV Championships. S-VE is led by Lauren Gillette, while Candor will look to Gwen Shaw to try and go low for the day.
TRACK & FIELD
Section IV Class C Championships
Newark Valley track and field is coming off a solid showing in the IAC Championships, which they hosted for the first time. The Cardinals now set their sights on the Section IV Class C Championships today at Oneonta.
