SECTION IV BOYS' GOLF: S-VE WRAPS UP SEASON AT SECTION IV CLASS D CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-05-27)

DELHI - Spencer-Van Etten finished up their 2025 boys' golf season at today's Section IV Class D Championships, competing among 13 other teams, with the Groton Red Hawks taking home the team title.
The tournament was held at The College Golf Course At Delhi on what was a clear and warm, but challenging day.
S-VE shot a 544-team total on the par-72, 18-hole course. The Panthers finished 11th out of the 14-team field.
Jayden Stone led S-VE by breaking 100, carding a 93 for his round and showing solid bunker play throughout the afternoon. Owen Bly battled hard all day to shoot a 107, while John Hastings carded a 114.
Donavin Vanderpoel and AJ Shoemaker rounded out the five-man scoring portion of the Panthers lineup. Vanderpoel carded a 114, while Shoemaker shot a 116 for his round.
Groton claimed the Class D title, defeating Elmira Notre Dame by just one stroke.
Spencer-Van Etten boys' golf finished the regular season 6-6 this year, while also placing fifth in the Small School Division at the IAC Championships.
