STAC TRACK & FIELD: HEATH WINS 400-METER AS OWEGO RUNS IN TOUGH CONDITIONS AT STAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-05-22)

VESTAL - Gavin Heath paced the Owego track and field team on Wednesday night at the STAC Championships with a victory in the 400-meter, as the River Hawks competed through cold and rainy conditions, with the boys side finishing 10th and the girls' team, 12th.
BOYS RESULTS
OFA's Heath won the STAC Championship in the 400m, clocking 49.96. The boys' 4x400 ran 3:36.54 for fifth place.
Liam Bell leaped 5-6 for fifth in the high jump and Magavin Allen earned eighth in the 800-meters, clocking 2:03.63.
Billy Huddleston ran 25.49 to take eighth for Owego in the 200-meter dash, while Joseph Gaurnier heaved 39-11 for a top-ten finish in the shot put.
GIRLS RESULTS
Jaelyn Chrysler earned a top-five finish in the 1500-meters for the River Hawks. Chrysler took fourth place in the event with 5:08.03. Abigail McHugh placed ninth, running 5:24.21.
Owego grabbed second in the girls' 4x800m relay with a time of 10:28.23, while Madison McEvoy ran 1:06.06 for ninth in the 400m. Taylor Signs leaped 26-6.25 in the triple jump and Aubrey Ellis threw 58-9 in the discus event.
Owego track and field will now continue preparation for next week's Class Championships at Ithaca.
