Candor's Noah Banks went low in multiple rounds last week to help lead his team to a pair of victories on the golf course, while Kylie Grippen and Olivia Dodge both shined on the gridiron in Owego's opening round sectional flag football game. They are the Tioga County Sports Report / Guthrie Community Credit Union "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending May 17.
CANDOR'S NOAH BANKS NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION BOYS 'ATHLETE OF THE WEEK'
Noah Banks played a pivotal role in helping earn the Candor boys' golf team a trio of wins last week to clinch the IAC South Small School division title. Banks was the low medalist in wins over Tioga and Odessa-Montour, carding a 42. Banks also earned co-medalist honors a few days later against Southern Cayuga with another 42 for his round.

OWEGO'S KYLIE GRIPPEN AND OLIVIA DODGE NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK'
Coming into last week's Section IV Class C flag football semifinal, Kylie Grippen had missed multiple games due to injury. Owego's Grippen returned against Windsor and threw for 211 yards and four touchdown passes, helping propel her team to their first round win in the postseason. OFA's Olivia Dodge was equally impressive in the win over Windsor. Dodge caught two touchdown passes on offense, while also leading her team defensively with eight tackles, three deflected passes and a punt return for a touchdown.
