IAC TRACK & FIELD: NEWARK VALLEY'S KING WINS OUTDOOR PENTATHLON AT O-M, S-VE'S KENVILLE TAKES FOURTH (2025-05-19)

ODESSA - Members of Newark Valley and Spencer-Van Etten track and field teams traveled this afternoon to take part in the boys' pentathlon at Odessa-Montour, with the Cardinals' Zion King coming home with first place.

Newark Valley's King won the pentathlon with a 2,420 total. King leaped 1.70m in the high jump and 5.60m in the long jump, while throwing 9.71m in the shot put. King ran 20.37 in the 110 hurdles and clocked 4:55.1 in the 1500-meters.

S-VE's Karson Kenville finished fourth at Odessa-Montour today with a 2,106 total, while Gabe Benjamin earned sixth with 2,036.

Kenville ran 16.84 in the 110 hurdles and 5:22.99 in the 1500m. Kenville heaved 7.69m in the shot put, while going 1.40m in the high jump and 4.91m in the long jump.

S-VE's Benjamin leaped 1.43m in the high jump and 4.94m in the long jump. Benjamin clocked 20.65 in the 110 hurdles and 4:46.98 for the 1500-metes, while heaving 8.40m in the shot put.

The Cardinals' Clemente Borelli finished with a total of 1,666 for ninth in Monday's field. Borelli went 21.97 in the 110 hurdles and 5:55.48 in the 1500m. Borelli jumped 1.55m in the high jump event and 4.86m in the long jump, while throwing 8.42m in the shot put.

Both the Cardinals and Panthers will compete at the IAC Track and Field Championships at Newark Valley on Wednesday.
