SPENCER - The Eagles grabbed an early lead on Thursday and held on until Cincinnatus broke through in the sixth inning to win, 8-3 in the regular season finale for SVEC softball.

After a quiet first inning, SVEC put two runs on the board to take the lead in the second inning. The Eagles loaded the bases with a few walks and Elliana Middlebrook scored on an error, followed by Emma Neish knocking a base-hit to drive in Kelsea Swayze. .

Cincinnatus tied it up with two runs in the top of the third, but Jillian Holmes homered to center field to regain the lead for the Eagles.

The next two innings would come and go without anymore runs, until Cincinnatus put together a huge six-run, sixth inning to go ahead and ultimately win the game.

Holmes went 2-for-3 with a home run, while Neish added a hit and an RBI as well.

SVEC softball finishes their regular season 6-10.
