TRACK & FIELD: NEWARK VALLEY TEST THEMSELVES IN COMPETITIVE FIELD AT PARKHURST INVITATIONAL (2025-05-10)

ENDICOTT - Cardinals' track and field traveled to Union-Endicott High School on Saturday to compete in a competitive field that included 16 other teams at the Parkhurst Invitational.

For the Newark Valley girls, Anika Smith had a solid showing in the field events. Smith placed second in the pole vault with 8-0 and fifth in the long jump, leaping 14-9.75.

Olivia Webb earned a third place finish in the high jump with 4-6. Brook Illsley ran 12:47.01 for fourth place in the 3000m event. Illsley also took eighth in the 1500-meters, running  5:46.44.

On the boys' side, Logan Rhodes lead the way with a second place showing in the Pole Vault, posting 11-6.

Zion King finished sixth in the triple jump with 38-5.5 and seventh in the long jump, leaping 18-3.

Marcos Escalante earned a seventh place result in the 1600-meters with a time of 4:55.48, while Camden King finished eighth in the 3200m, running 13:17.03.

Newark Valley will be back on the track May 12th, when they travel to Elmira Heights.
