Tioga County Sports Report
CANDOR - The Coyotes girls' golf team carded a 234-team total on Wednesday afternoon at Catatonk Golf Club, with Kaedyn Everhart taking home medalist honors in the match.
Candor's Everhart shot a 57 for her round. Emma Veasey was right behind her with a 58 on the day.
Gwen Shaw carded a 59, while Lydia Kunte shot a 60.
In non-scoring rounds for Candor, Emma Fey recorded a 65, while Tessa White finished with a 69. Emma Stetler and Jillian Teribury each carded a 76 in Wednesday's round.
Zoe Stevens shot a 62 for Dryden's only scoring round.
"It was a tough day for a golf match with the wet conditions from the previous nights rain. I was encouraged that all the golfers persevered and continued to play even when things were not going their way," said coach Jason Banks.
"In addition to the varsity match, Dryden was able to bring a few seventh graders to play in a modified match with Candor's lone modified girls golfer.
"Lily Lynch, Maeve Riggs and Mya Stepanok from Dryden, played with Cecilia Kern from Candor. It was a nice opportunity for the seventh graders to get a chance to play in a match like format," added Banks.
Candor girls' golf will hit the course again on May 14 against Odessa-Montour.
