IAC BOYS' GOLF: CANDOR CARDS AN IMPRESSIVE 170, BUT UNDEFEATED GROTON TAKES FRIDAY'S MATCH (2025-05-03)

Tioga County Sports Report
GROTON - The Candor boys' golf team put up a solid fight against Groton on Friday, but ultimately dropped the match to the unbeaten Red Hawks, 157-170.
They're probably the best team in the conference, said Candor coach, Kevin Jester.
"I'm happy with the way we played on their home course. 170 is a good score and all of our top four made birdies."
Noah Banks and Tyler Greeno carded a pair of 40's for the Coyotes. Kody Floyd shot a 43, while Brennan Zimmer finished with a 47 for his round.
In a non-scoring round, Max Fey recorded a 48 for Candor.
Groton had two different golfers break 40. Talan O'Conner and Conor Eldred both shot a 37. Maddux Dyson wasn't far behind with a 41 and Marley Antrum carded a 42 for the Red Hawks.
Candor moves to 2-1 for their division and 3-2 overall. The Coyotes will host Union Springs on Monday.
