NEWARK VALLEY - The Cardinals ran into a tough Union Springs softball team on Wednesday, falling to the Wolves 20-0 at home.

Newark Valley held Union Springs scoreless for the first two innings, but gave up nine over the course of the next three, before the Wolves exploded for 11 runs in the sixth.

Haven Aylesworth and Maddy Noble recorded the only two hits for the Cardinals in Wednesday's matchup.

Newark Valley is at Groton for their next game on Friday.
