STAC SOFTBALL: OWEGO RETURNS FROM THE BREAK WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT IN WIN OVER FORKS (2025-04-29)

Tioga County Sports Report
BINGHAMTON - After more than a week off, OFA softball picked up where they left off, with an impressive 14-4 victory over Chenango Forks.
The River Hawks plated six runs in the first two innings and three more in the fourth and fifth, before tacking on their remaining five runs in the final two innings.
Geneva Crawford had a pair of triples on the day and Maia Smith had multiple extra-base hits as well. Carsten Crawford added another home run to her season total, while Audrionna Howe, Bella Beams, and Miley Laubach each doubled against Forks.
"We had some girls in different positions today, so it was a little challenging on defense just to make sure we were backing each other up," said coach Emily Crawford.
"The girls had a great practice on the dirt yesterday because this is our only game played on dirt. I thought they did a nice job getting a feel for the different bounce."
"At the plate, they jumped on the first pitch in the first inning, which really set the tone and then tacked on little bits from there," added Crawford.
OFA softball is back at home tomorrow to play Seton Catholic.
"Tomorrow will be a good game to get back in the rhythm. The season really picks up right now and the grind is real. I just need them to keep their energy up and back each other up as they have been doing," coach Crawford said.
