IAC SOFTBALL: SVEC BOUNCES BACK WITH THREE RUN VICTORY OVER WATKINS GLEN (2025-04-29)

Tioga County Sports Report
WATKINS GLEN - After having their win streak broken yesterday, the Eagles righted the ship with a 6-3 win over Watkins Glen.

SVEC's Katelyn Klym got her team on the board in the first inning by putting a ball in play that allowed Jillian Holmes to score. Watkins Glen tied the game up however, with a run in the bottom part of the inning.

In the second inning, the Eagles picked up three runs and a lead they would not surrender. Ryleigh Bowman lead off the inning with a single and advanced to second base on the throw. Bowman would move to third on a wild pitch. With two outs, Kelsea Swayze worked a walk. Bowman would score on a passed ball and Maddy Ashby doubled to score Swayze. Emma Neish came to the plate and knocked a base-hit to drive in Ashby.

SVEC and Watkins Glen traded a run each in both the third and fifth innings.

Elliana Middlebrook went five innings in the circle for the Eagles, giving up two earned runs and striking out four.

Neish had three hits to go with an RBI. Ashby was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, while Faith Brenchley went 2-for-3 on the day with a run. Klym finished with a run scored as well as an RBI. Holmes and Bowman scored a run each.

SVEC softball is back on the diamond tomorrow for the third straight day this week, hosting Whitney Point.
