Tioga County Sports Report
OWEGO - The River Hawks improved to 6-2 on the season, earning their fifth straight win by defeating Elmira, 14-3 on Thursday night.

Madison McEvoy and Ashleigh Steele lit up the scoreboard. McEvoy found the back of the net on five different occasions, while Steele earned herself a hat trick.

Lexi Herceg and Amelia Sherman both scored twice. Jenna McEvoy and Izzy Herceg each chipped in a goal as well.

Keira Henry, Keely Wicklund and Mikayla Wilbur racked up multiple ground balls, while Shannon Maslin had six saves in goal.

When asked where she feels the team is at this point of the season, Lexi Herceg spoke on the work OFA has done to improve.

"I am super proud of where we are at. We have placed a big emphasis on our stick skills this year and that is paying off with the work we are putting in at practice," said Herceg.

"Our team is coming together more as a unit on the field as we progress through the season. We have a lot of room to grow and a lot of potential. This team has a great bond," the senior added.

OFA will look to put another in the win column when they face Seton Catholic on April 28th.
