STAC TENNIS: RIVER HAWKS GO DOWN ON THE ROAD AT WINDSOR IN RARE THURSDAY MORNING MATCH (2025-04-24)

Tioga County Sports Report
WINDSOR - OFA's road woes continued on Thursday morning, with the River Hawks falling to Windsor in a STAC Central vs STAC East tennis matchup.
The Black Knights won all three of the contested matches.
Derrick Chen defeated OFA's Sam Beyer in first singles 6-3, 6-3.
Windsor's Alex Chen picked up a second singles victory in straight sets over DJ Cardone, 6-0, 6-1.
In the most closely contested match of the morning, Sabian Aonnick and Kaden Chapman bested Owego's Scott Reigle and Tanner Hayes in three sets, 1-6, 6-1 and 10-8 in third-set tie breaker.
In terms of OFA's progression at this point in the season, coach Erica Haray sees many bright spots with her athletes.
"Sam remains a consistent, hardworking player who has a strategy for each match. DJ continues to use his scrappiness to win points and is fine tuning his form to reduce errors," said Haray.
"Together, Scott and Tanner are getting better with communicating and covering the court as a team. It's great to see each of them improving and getting stronger throughout the season."
Owego tennis is back on their home courts to host Chenango Valley on April 28th.
