LUVISON TAKES THE HELM AT TIOGA COUNTY SPORTS REPORT (2025-04-21)

TIOGA COUNTY — You may have noticed a new guy at Tioga County Sports Report the last month or so taking photos and writing stories; that would be new Site Managing Editor Kirk Luvison.

"Kirk is a sports nut, he's very knowledgeable, and he is a hard worker," said The Sports Reports' founder Tim Birney.

"I'm sure Kirk will provide the same great coverage our readers have grown accustom to, and I'm fairly certain he'll provide a few new wrinkles as well.

"I'm grateful he came on board with us, and I'm looking forward to what the future holds in store for Tioga County Sports Report," added Birney.

Luvison grew up in Hornell, NY. He is a 2005 graduate of Hornell High School, where he enjoyed playing multiple sports including football, as well as track & field. Kirk attended both Alfred University and Monroe Community College, before relocating to The Valley to begin a career in the newspaper industry.

Kirk joins Tioga County Sports Report after spending the previous 16 years working for both The Morning Times and Towanda Printing Company. Kirk and his wife Lauren, who works in the Tioga Central School District, currently reside in Waverly.

"The Sports Reports have always done such a great job at providing in-depth coverage of high school and youth sports in our communities," he said. "Getting to join the team and be a part of that is such an exciting opportunity."

"I look forward to being able to highlight our local athletes and sports programs in Tioga County and the surrounding area," added Luvison.
