Tioga 8th-grader Kate Kithcart was dynamic at the plate and in the pitcher's circle in a pair of Tiger wins, while Owego's Sawyer Prentiss filled up the net in a pair of River Hawk lacrosse wins. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending April 12.

TIOGA'S KITHCART NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Kithcart earned a pair of wins in the circle, and hit .875 to lead the offense.

In 11 innings, Kithcart allowed one run on four hits, while striking out 16 and walking one.

At the plate, Kithcart was 7-for-8 with three doubles, one triple, three runs scored, and three RBI.

Honorable Mentions: Waverly's Paige Bubniak (softball), Newark Valley's Austin DeBolt (softball), Canton's Alexis McRoberts (track & field), Troy's Lauren Ridall (softball), Williamson's Jade Colwell (track & field), and Corning's Matti Johnston (softball).

OWEGO'S PRENTISS NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Prentiss scored nine goals in less than 24 hours to lead the River Hawks to a pair of wins.

Prentiss had five goals in a 19-6 win over Windsor Friday, then scored four goals, including the 100th of his career, in an 18-3 win over Chittenango Saturday.

The River Hawks lost 8-7 to Whitney Point earlier in the week, but no stats provided for the game.

Honorable Mentions: Sayre's Marco Quiros (track & field), Wyalusing's Kenny Mapes (baseball), Troy's Camden Allen (baseball), Wellsboro's Marek Mascho (baseball), and Horseheads Brogan Sullivan (lacrosse).
