Zander Wilson burst onto the high school wrestling scene this winter with 38 consecutive wins to start his career. He is
The Sports Reports' 2024-25 All-Region Boys "
Newcomer of the Winter."
Wilson posted a 43-3 record with 10 falls and 10 technical falls. He won the North Section and District 4 titles.
Wilson
suffered his first loss of the season in the opening-round of the
Northeast Regionals, but won four in a row on Day 2 to finish third. He
went 1-2 at States.
During the regular season, he won titles at
the STWOA Wrestling Classic in Jamestown, N.Y., the South Williamsport
Invite, and the Southern Tier Memorial.

Gage Evans, freshman, Towanda: Evans
posted a 39-12 record with 14 pins and 12 technical falls. He won a
North Section title, placed fourth at Districts, and third at Regionals.
He was 0-2 at States.
Bodhi Nickerson, freshman, North
Penn-Liberty: Nickerson posted a 31-13 record, with 12 pins and three
technical falls. He placed third at North Sections and seventh at
Districts. He was 2-2 at Regionals.
Boom Thompson, freshman Towanda basketball:
Thompson was one of the best floor generals in the league from day one,
running a rejuvenated Towanda offense as they got back to the
postseason this year. A strong ball-handler, canny passer, and solid
shooter, Thompson played well above his grade.
Treyton Barrett, freshman, Athens: Barrett
posted a 24-11 record, with eight pins and nine technical falls. He won
a District 4 title, and was 1-2 at the Class AAA Northeast Regionals.
Reese Sluyter, freshman, Towanda:
Sluyter posted a 26-9 record with 13 pins and five technical falls. He
won a North Section title, and just missed Regionals due to an injury,
placing sixth at Districts.
Noah Cady, freshman, Horseheads bowling: Cody had a 210 average this season, finishing just outside the top 10 in the STAC. He qualified for States.
Colten Santalucia, 8th-grader, Waverly bowling:
Santalucia maintained a 208 average this season, which was 16th in the
STAC. He had the third-highest series in the league with a 762. He was a
key cog in Waverly's run to a sixth-place finish at States.
Dominic
Palmer, junior, Tioga basketball: Palmer developed into a force in the
paint in his first varsity season with the athleticism and timing to
block shots, and the physicality to rebound. He averaged 10.3 points, 10
rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game.
Mason Vanderhoff, 8th-grader, Horseheads:
Vanderhoof finished the season with a 27-9 record, including 20 pins
and two technical falls. He was second at States, second at the Section
IV, Division I championships, and went 0-2 at States.
Connor McAllister, freshman, Horseheads:
McAllister posted a 29-10 record, with 15 pins and eight forfeits. He
finished third at STACs, won a Section IV, Division I title, and was 0-2
at States.
Porter Daddona, junior, Waverly basketball: A
force in the low-post with good post moves and a nice touch, Daddona
got better as the season progressed. He averaged 11.3 points and 6
rebounds per game, and shot 66 percent from the free-throw line.
Trey Teribury, sophomore, Troy basketball: The
sophomore stepped into a big role as a stretch-4. He averaged
double-digits on the season, while coming up with big plays during the
postseason.
