STAC BASEBALL: KOTSKI FANS 14 IN OFA'S SERIES CLINCHING WIN OVER SETON CATHOLIC (2025-04-15)

Tioga County Sports Report
OWEGO - Connor Kotski pitched a complete game on Tuesday to give OFA their second win in their three-game series with Seton Catholic, defeating the Saints, 3-2.

All three of Owego's runs for the game came in the first inning. Kotski retired the top of the first in order. In the home half, Elijah Lewis lead off with a single. Conlan Taylor knocked a base-hit next. Evan English followed with a double to center field, driving in Lewis.

After Taylor scored on a passed ball and English advanced to third, Kotski popped up a sac fly to bring in English and put OFA ahead 3-0.

Seton Catholic got on the board in the third inning with a solo home run to make it 3-1. The game would remain that way until the top of the seventh, with Kotski continuing to pitch lights out, retiring the side in order for both the fifth and sixth innings.

In the top part of the seventh inning, Seton Catholic's Yaeger singled with one out. With two outs, a triple to right field drove in Yaeger to bring Seton within a run of tying the game.

The decision was made to let Kotski finish what he started. With two outs and a man on third, Kotski struck out Seton's Rumpel to give OFA the win and clinch the series.

English went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Lewis and Taylor both finished 2-for-3 from the plate, each scoring a run.

Kotski went all seven innings on the mound for OFA in the complete game win, fanning 14 batters, while only allowing four hits and two earned runs.

"We have gotten outstanding starts the last two days from Elijah Lewis and Connor Kotski," head coach Nick Wegmann said.

"Really gutsy performance tonight from Connor. We have a lot of faith in him and wanted to let him finish. He did a great job."

"We didn't get complacent tonight. We hit the ball hard and had good at-bats. We made some outs on the bases, but I never felt like we were just throwing at-bats away," added Wegmann.

Owego wraps up the three-game series with Seton Catholic in Binghamton on Wednesday.
