STAC BASEBALL: OFA KICKS OFF THREE-GAME SERIES WITH WIN AT HOME OVER SETON CATHOLIC (2025-04-14)

OWEGO - In their first three-game series of the season, the River Hawks bested Seton Catholic by 10 runs on Monday, winning 12-2 at home.

Seton jumped on Owego in the first inning with two runs, but the River Hawks responded with three of their own in the second.

Connor Kotski lead off the inning with a walk and Dylan Brace took first base after being hit. Matt Higgins laid down a bunt single next to load the bases. With one out, Jack Buchsbaum lifted a sac-fly to left field, scoring Kotski. After a Joseph Palladino walk, the bases were loaded up again with two outs. Elijah Lewis came to the plate next and singled to drive in two runs and put Owego in front, 3-2.

In the home half of the third, Evan English belted a solo home run to left field.

Lewis drove in Buchsbaum during the fourth, while English struck again with an RBI double in the same inning, putting OFA up 6-2.

OFA scored again in the fifth inning and plated five more runs in the bottom half of the sixth.

Elijah Lewis pitched well for the River Hawks, earning the win by going six innings and striking out eight. Lewis was also 2-for-4 from the plate, with three RBIs.

Evan English went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double, while Higgins went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Brace reached home on three occasions, and Kotski scored twice as well. Buchsbaum and Palladino each recorded a hit and a run on the day for Owego.

Owego baseball is home again on Tuesday in the second game of the series with Seton Catholic.
