OWEGO TRACK & FIELD: OFA BOYS' AND GIRLS' OUTDOOR COMPETE AT SQUARE DEAL INVITE IN JOHNSON CITY (2025-04-14)

JOHNSON CITY - Owego outdoor track and field stayed busy this weekend by making the trip to Johnson City on Sunday, competing in the Square Deal Invitational.
The OFA girls' team finished eighth with a team total of 43, while the boys side placed 10th, scoring 31.3 team points.
Girls Results
Stella Palladino won the 200-meter dash, sprinting 25.92. Palladino also placed third in the 100 with a time of 12.73. Both of which were new personal bests.
"We have been focusing on the 200 in the last week and she really stepped up in that event, finishing first," said coach Scott Senko.
Sidney Senko and Madison McEvoy earned top ten finishes in the 400m. Senko ran 1:07.85 for ninth, and McEvoy clocked 1:08.09 for 10th.
Jaelyn Chrysler brought home third in the 800m with 2:40.60, and fifth in the 1500m, clocking 5:18.88.
"Jaelyn Chrysler has been focused on speed this season and running a lot of mid distance races. We are starting to see that work pay off," commented Senko.
In the 400m hurdles, Owego's Nicole Esworthy placed third with a time of 1:21.59. Esworthy also finished 11th in the 100-meter hurdles, running 20.63. Lilly LaFever took 4th in the 2000m steeplechase, running 8:40.11.
Eleanora Palmer threw 69-7 for 10th in the girls' discus, while Taylor Signs leaped 27-8.25 in the triple jump for an 11th place finish. Logan Georgia earned 11th place in the high jump with 4-2. Georgia also finished 13th in the long jump for Owego, jumping 12-3.5.
The girls' 4x400-meter relay came in third with a time of 4:37.20.
Boys Results
Gavin Heath paced the OFA boys' team for the day. Heath finished third in the 400m, running 51.58, while also contributing big to the 4x400m relay. Jaxson Belokur finished ninth in the 400 with 56.54.
"Gavin Heath looked outstanding in the 400m and 4x400 relay. He is a strong runner and finishes races really well. As he gets more experience in the 400m, he is going to continue to improve," coach Senko said.
Jaeden King placed eighth in the 100-meter dash, clocking 12.63, while Adam Llewellyn earned a 12th place finish in the 200m, running 24.90.
Bryson Castro ran 2:11.44 in the 800m for seventh, and Ryker Chrysler ran 2:14.58, finishing 11th.
Magavin Allen ran the 1600m, clocking 4:55.17, good for a sixth place finish. Cadon Wasielewski went 13:46.45 in the 3000m steeplechase for seventh, while Brady Senko was ninth in the 400m hurdles with 1:09.08.
In the boys' high jump, Trace Hall recorded 5-2 for eighth. Mathew Wood leaped 32-8 for 10th in the triple jump for Owego, while Dylan Davis heaved 38-4 in the shot put, finishing seventh. Davis also earned 11th in the discus by throwing 89-6.
Evan Wasielewski recorded 2203 for sixth in the pentathlon. The boys' 4x400m relay finished third in their event, running 3:37.81, and the 4x800 relay team placed fifth with a time of 9:24.89. The 4x100-meter relay ran 46.68 for seventh.
"The athletes have been working hard and they are exciting to watch. I am expecting big things from this group over the next few weeks," added Senko.
