Troy sophomore Kendrick Ross set a school record and exceeded the state standard, and Horseheads senior Megan Wolf excelled in the circle and at the plate in a pair of wins. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending April 5.

TROY'S ROSS NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Ross won the high jump title at the Kirby Classic with a Troy school record height of 6-feet, 5-inches.

The mark is two inches higher than the state standard.

Honorable Mentions: Williamson's Logan Stickler (baseball), Waverly's Griff Walter (baseball), Horseheads' Cooper Ball (baseball), and SVEC's Deveon Aman (baseball).

HORSEHEADS' WOLF NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Wolf tossed a 4-hitter and struck out 11 in a win over Vestal. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and two runs scored.

In a win over Chenango Valley, Wolf allowed one hit and no runs in four innings, striking out 10. She also three hits with three RBI and three runs scored at the plate, with a triple.

For the week, she was 6-for-8 with five runs scored, three RBI, a double and a triple. She worked 11 innings with 21 strikeouts, allowing four hits.

Honorable Mentions: Williamson's Natalie Yonker (track & field), Athens' Sara Bronson (track & field), Towanda's Aleah Johnson (softball), and Owego's Olivia Dodge (flag football).
