BOYS' LACROSSE: PRENTISS NETS 100th CAREER GOAL AS OFA EARNS WIN FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT DAY (2025-04-12)

Tioga County Sports Report
OWEGO - OFA's Sawyer Prentiss recorded his 100th career goal on Saturday afternoon, as the River Hawks notched their second win in as many days, taking care of Chittenango, 18-3 at home.
Owego showed no signs of wear and tear from the previous night's victory, getting right back to work with Prentiss, Caleb Cole and Atlas Boland all finding the net before the mid-point of the first quarter.
Cole would go on to score two more times to earn a hat trick before the second stanza ever got under way. Garrett Phelps found the back of the net, and Boland scored for a second time as well in the first quarter.
Owego's Phelps began the next quarter with his second goal of the afternoon, putting OFA out in front 8-2. After Prentiss snapped one in at the 6:22 mark, Boland would score again, followed by Phelps earning a hat trick and giving Owego an 11-2 lead at the half.
In the third stanza, Cole and Prentiss scored again, as well as Phelps, Ryan Barnes and Alex Reid.
Owego finished the day off with two goals in the fourth quarter, one by Brady Bartlow, while the other was Sawyer Prentiss' 100th career goal at the 5:00 mark.
"It's so surreal. I have been waiting on this, and I am just so excited," said Prentiss about the milestone goal.
"The morale is really high on the sideline. Everybody is excited and I think we are going to keep this momentum going and get better from here," added Prentiss.
Prentiss and Phelps finished with four goals a piece, while Cole netted four of his own to go with three assists. Boland tallied three goals and two assists on the day as well.
Ryan Barnes and Alex Reid each recorded a goal and an assist. Bartlow also snapped in a goal for the afternoon.
"We really found our energy at home. The team came out with their foot on the gas and didn't let up for all four quarters," said head coach Craig Nevins.
"The offense moved the ball and created opportunities, while our defense played smart and controlled."
This was OFA's second straight win in less than 24 hours after coming off a couple heartbreaking overtime losses. Caleb Cole believes the momentum is building for this team as the season continues.
"It feels like we have caught a rhythm. The boys are working hard and staying positive," said Cole.
"We have a lot of leaders on this team and we are always showing energy and picking each other up," added Cole.
Owego Lacrosse is back in action again on April 15th at Seton Catholic.
