WAVERLY - S-VE boys' golf finally had the opportunity to get their season started, but fell to Tioga in a close contest, 205-207 at Shepard Hills on Friday.

James Luther was the match medalist, carding at 41 for Tioga. S-VE's Donavin Vanderpoel shot a 49 on the day, including a birdie on the par 5 fifth.

Owen Bly and Jayden Stone each carded a 50 for the Panthers, while AJ Shomaker finished his round with a 58.

For Tioga, Owen Seaver shot a 46 and Drayke Ulrich carded a 57. Tate Macauley and Austin Mumbulo shot a pair of 61's for the Tigers.

S-VE's Chris Kobre carded a 60, while Tyler Tufford finished with a 69 for non-scoring rounds.
