IAC TRACK: TIOGA SWEEPS TRI-MEET WITH SVE AND CANDOR (2025-04-08)

Tioga County Sports Report
Candor was the site of an IAC tri-meet on Tuesday where athletes from Candor, SVE and Tioga showed real grit and determination, competing in frigid temperatures you don't normally see in the second week of April.

Tioga swept the girls' side, defeating SVE, 62.5 - 52.5, and besting Candor 68-39. The Candor girls' team topped SVE, 58-41.

The Tigers swept the boys side as well. Tioga outdid SVE, 72.5 - 68.5, and outscored Candor, 109-11. SVE defeated Candor, 114-22.

GIRLS RESULTS
In the 110m hurdles, Candor's Lindsey Morse placed second, running 18.6. JennaRose Reagan placed third in the 100-meter dash for Candor, running 14.2.

In the 1500m, Zoey Lang for Candor finished first, running 6:11, while SVE's Madelyn Ellison placed second with a time of 6:14. Ellison also won the 3000m, running 14:18.

Candor's 4x100 relay team ran a 60.2 for second place. The team consisted of Rollins, Williamson and Gehres. SVE's Ashley Ellison ran 1:30 in the girls' 400-meters, good for a second place finish in the event.

In the 800m, Zoey Lang won the event for Candor, running 2:58.8, while SVE's Kendall Gentile took second with a 3:03.6.

Candor's Claire Rollins finished first in the 200m with a time of 29.9. Megan Williamson was right behind her for the Coyotes, taking second with a 30.5.

Kaylee Kastenhuber and Aubrey Catablan went one-two in the girls' discus for the Panthers. Kastenhuber tossed 85-feet for first place, and Catablan threw 77-3 for second. JennaRose Reagan finished third, logging 68-1.

Kastenhuber and Catablan finished first and second again in the shot put. Kastenhuber won the event with a heave of 27-2 1/4. Catablan recorded 24-1 for second.

Lindsey Morse for Candor, jumped 13-feet, five-inches for second place in the long jump.

BOYS RESULTS
Karson Kenville for SVE ran a 15.7 in the boys' 110m hurdles, just behind Tioga's Andrew Earley, who won the event with a 15.6.

Edward Rixford won the 1600m, running 5:19. Gabe Benjamin was right behind him in second with a 5:20. Candor's Jakobe Foster placed second in the 400m, running 58.9.

James Kane ran 2:20.5 for Candor in the 800m, good for a second place finish. SVE's Benjamin finished third with a time of 2:22.9.

Theo Mueller-Steinhardt won the 200m for SVE, running 24.0. Rixford ran a 12:27.1 to win the 3200-meters, while Ryan Ackerley clocked 13:56 for the Panthers, good for third place.

In the long jump, SVE's Zachery Paucke leaped 17-11 1/2, finishing second. Karson Kenville and Landon Whitmarsh went two-three for the Panthers in the triple jump. Kenville jumped 34-10 and Whitmarsh went 31-5.5.

Foster for Candor, took second in the high jump with a best of 5-feet, 6-inches. Rylan Cruz earned a sixth place finish in the shot put with a heave of 28-1.5.

SVE and Candor outdoor teams will be back on the track April 10th, when they both compete at Marathon.
