OFA BOYS' LACROSSE: RIVER HAWKS' DROP OPENER ON THE ROAD AT CORTLAND (2025-04-02)

Tioga County Sports Report
CORTLAND - Owego boy's lacrosse lost a tough opener in overtime to Cortland, 12-11, for their first regular season action of the spring.

"We came out with energy and played hard. Little things kept us in the game and little things kept us out," head coach Craig Nevins said.

The game was back and forth, with Owego able to keep pace, thanks to a stellar night in goal by Ryder Cronk. Cronk had 15 saves in the opener.

"We have a handful of details to tidy up moving forward, but I'm optimistic for the rest of the season," said Nevins.

"We are going to take this energy and these lessons learned and be ready to play Friday."

Sawyer Prentiss lead the River Hawks with seven goals. Atlas Boland added two goals to go with two assists for the first game of the year.

Caleb Cole found the back of the net twice and dished out an assist, while Lucas Boccasini chipped in with an assist as well.

OFA boys' lacrosse will play Seton Catholic for their home opener, this Friday night.
