NEWARK VALLEY - The Cardinals' struggled to put runners on base in a cold and rainy divisional matchup with Moravia on Wednesday, falling 18-0 in five innings.

Moravia broke the game open in the second inning with eight runs, coming off of eight walks and three RBI singles. The Blue Devils didn't look back, bringing four more runs across the plate in the third, and two more came home in the fourth.

Moravia scored their final four runs in the top part of the fifth, thanks to a double that drove  in a run, as well as a couple RBI singles.

The Cardinals' only managed two hits on the day, coming from Joshua Karp and Chase Purcell.

Newark Valley will try to right the ship on Thursday, when they hit the road to take on Union Springs.
