IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: CANDOR'S FOSTER NAMED IAC SOUTH SMALL SCHOOL MVP; THREE TEAMMATES ALSO RECOGNIZED (2025-03-22)

Jakobe Foster had an outstanding season and was named the IAC South Small School Division MVP, and three of his teammates were also recognized, including a pair of second-seamers, in recent voting by the league's coaches.
Foster is an ultra-athletic 2-guard, who can score from anywhere on the floor, and is an intense defender.
Foster averaged 22.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game.
He shot 44 percent from the field, including a 32-percent mark from behind the arc with 43 3-pointers. He also shot 73 percent from the free-throw line, making 132 of 180 attempts.
FIRST TEAMNamed to the first team along with Foster were: Newfield's Malcom Jenkins and Greg Taylor, O-M's Tyler Malnoske, and Tioga's Jackson Bombard.
SECOND TEAM
Donald Makie, sophomore, Candor: A dynamic 3-point shooter, Makie could also score taking the ball to the hoop.
Makie averaged 14.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1 steal per game. He shot 39 percent from the field, including a 33-percent from behind the arc, knocking down 61 3-pointers.
Carson Heidl, junior, Candor: A presence in the paint and strong defender, Heidl averaged 10.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.
Also named to the
second team were: Newfield's Zakieus Vaun, S-VE's Luukas Carling, and Tioga's Dominic Palmer.
Honorable Mention
Ryan Huizinga, junior, Candor: Huizinga handled a lot of the dirty work for the Coyotes. He averaged 2.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and shot 45 percent from the field.
