Towanda seniors Sawyer Robinson and Mason Higley, and Northeast Bradford junior Anaiah Kolesar all reached the podium at the PIAA Wrestling Championships, and Corning senior Cella McLaughlin earned a state indoor track & field title. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending March 8.

TOWANDA'S ROBINSON, HIGLEY NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Robinson went 4-2 on the weekend to finish fourth at 215 pounds. Both of his losses came to third-place finisher Braedon Welsh of Fort Cherry.

Robinson beat the fifth-place (Faith Christian's Jason Singer, pin in 6:49), seventh-place (Corry Area's Karl Albers (16-10 in OT), and eighth-place (Southern Columbia's Jude Bremigen, 12-4).

Robinson finished the season season at 44-5.

Higley went 4-2 on the weekend to finish fifth at 285 pounds. Both of his losses came to third-place finisher Caleb Rodriguez of Bishop McCort.

Higley, who lost his first match Thursday, beat the sixth-place (Laurel's Casey Wilson, 4-0) and seventh-place. (Brookeville's Gavin Hannah, 11-3) finishers.

Higley finished the season at 48-2.

Honorable Mentions: Waverly's Hogan Shaw (basketball), Troy's Evan Woodward (basketball), Corning's Nolan Proudfoot (basketball), and Williamson's Zander Wilson (wrestling).

CORNING'S McLAUGHLIN, NEB'S KOLESAR NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
McLaughlin won a state title in the 55-meter hurdles, tying her personal-best time of 8.03 seconds, at the New York State Indoor Track & Field Championships.

She also finished fourth in the long jump with a personal-best effort of 18-feet, 10 1/4-inches.

Kolesar, a three-time state place-winner, went 4-2 to finish fourth at the PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships for the second year in a row.

Kolesar lost to sixth-place finisher Madelyn Rivera of Pen Argyl and third-place finisher Emily Murphy of Montgomery.

She beat fifth-place finisher Anna Duncan of South Park (3-0) and seventh-place finisher Aaron Strader of Pine-Richland (pin in 4:44).

Kolesar finished the season at 36-6.

Honorable Mentions: Athens' Hanna Rathbun (wrestling), Athens' Leah Nason (wrestling), and Towanda's Mya Maynard (basketball).
